Since the publication of Out of the Cold, I have had opportunities to share more about my story, my writing and the experiences that shaped the book.
I did not intentionally pursue interviews or speaking opportunities. They have developed naturally as part of my journey as an author, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share a message of hope and encouragement with others.
Talking about Out of the Cold
I was invited to Life FM to talk about Out of the Cold, my life experiences and the journey that eventually led me to write and publish my story.
I was not given the interview questions beforehand, which suited me well. I tend to communicate best when I am able to speak naturally rather than rehearse what I am going to say.
The conversation gave me an opportunity to speak openly about my story, my faith and the hope I want readers to take from the book.

Out of the Cold book launch
A conversation about the story behind the memoir
The launch of Out of the Cold was held on 9 August 2026 and brought together family, friends and people from many different chapters of my life.
During the launch, I sat down for an extended conversation about the experiences behind the memoir, including childhood, belonging, addiction, forgiveness, faith, family and the long journey towards healing.
We also talked about the nearly forty years it took to write the book, why the timing finally felt right, and the people I hope Out of the Cold will reach.

Sharing my story publicly is still a relatively new part of being an author.
I have already been approached about speaking with groups and churches, and I am happy to consider future interviews, conversations and speaking invitations where I can share my experiences and encourage others.
